The 'Honor And Valour' All-Russian Action

For many years the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Foundation closely co-operates with the Russian Council of Veterans of the Law-Enforcement Bodies and Internal Military Forces. For example, annually, our charitable organization supports the Honour and Valour All-Russian Action, patronazed by the Council of Veterans.

On July 8^th the Action’s regular event was held in Khabarovsk city, where various public organizations awards were given to the best law-and-order serviceperson of the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as to the families of the killed officers.

Medals of the Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra, the Wonderworker Order for great services in charity and the Foundation monetary awards of 50,000 roubles were given to the following winners in the For Maternal Exploit nomination:

1. The militia Master Sergeant Nikolaenko Lydia Andreievna, mother of Sergey Nikolaenko who fell in the Republic of Afghanistan;

2. The police Captain Dombrovskaya Galina Stanislavovna, mother of Evgeny Dombrovsky who was killed in action;

3. Warrant Officer Shesterneva Svetlana Stepanovna, widow of Senior Lieutenant Shesternev who was lost in the Chechen Republic.

The wellness of the award recipients will be prayed for in 10 Russian Orthodox cloisters during the year.
