Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the Wonderworker (project)

On 21 March 2008, A.N. Tkachev, Governor of Krasnodar Krai; Metropolitan Isidore of Krasnodar and Kuban; V.I. Sinyagovsky, Head of the City of Novorossiysk, and A.Y. Bykov and M.I. Chepel, the founders of the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation signed an Agreement on creation of the biggest in the world monument to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, Patron of Russia and devotional defender of the southern borders of our Motherland.

Metropolitan Isidore of Krasnodar and Kuban blessed the project of installation
of the monument to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Hero City of
Novorossiysk. An Orthodox Chapel will be consecrated at the pedestal of the
monument at the suggestion of His Eminence. The author of Saint Nicholas the
Wonderworker’s image is S.M. Isakov, Meritorious Painter of the Russian Federation.

 

On 23 May 2008 the working meeting of Andrey Yu. Bykov, Chairman of the Saint Nicholas
the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation with V.I. Sinyagovsky, the Head of the municipality
of the Hero City of Novorossiysk and representatives of designing organizations took place.
The current questions about construction of the monument to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker were discussed during the meeting.
