The Year of the Teacher Concert in Nerekhta

October 30^th, 2010

On October 30th, 2010, in the town of Nerehta House of Culture the concert dedicated to the Year of the Teacher was performed at the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation support.

The list of the concert performers included the groups of the Nerehta Autograph Children Creativity Palace, the string ensemble directed by Valentina Novikova (Ivanovo), the soloist of the Moscow Russian Opera theatre, Sergey Moskal’kov (baritone), the soloist of the Galina Vishnevskaya Center of Opera Singing, winner of international competitions, soloist of the Russian Opera theatre, Alina Shakirova (soprano).

The Moscow Theological Academy's Jubilee Concert

On October 14th, 2010, the Moscow Theological Academy had the 325-year-jubilee, being the heiress of the Slavic Greek Latin Academy and the Russian Orthodox Church largest centre of theological education. The Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation presented the Academy with the concert that was performed on October 18th, in the Ekaterininsky Hall at the Academy’s Tzar Chambers.

The Victory 60th Anniversary festive performances for the Great Patriotic War veterans

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (GPW), the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation carried out the series of charitable concerts performed in the Krasnodar Krai and Adygea, presented thousands of veterans with gifts of value, and granted two dwelling apartments to GPW veterans.

In the Day of the Russian Submarine Fleet 100th Anniversary, the festive performance had become a gift by Olga Chetoyeva, Honored Artist of Russia, and the folk instruments ensemble directed by Dmitry Dmitrienko to the sailors of the Pacific Fleet 16th submarine squadron.

The Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation distributed free of charge over 3,000 disk-recordings of the classical music performed by the Philharmony of Nations orchestra directed by Justus Frantz to the kindergartens, schools and military servicepersons.

The charitable concerts on the occasion of opening the monuments

The Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation seeks to accompany unveiling each of the monuments with the charitable concert in which the artists of fame are to perform.

Such concerts were performed in Yeysk, Elista, Vladimir, Maykop, Omsk, Sergiyev Posad, Petropablovsk-Kamchatsky, Altea (Spain), on the Novaya Zemlya and Franz Joseph Land.

Several years of fruitful cooperation between young opera soloists of major Moscow theatres and the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation and numerous guest performances all over Russia have proved that classical opera is still in popular demand among common people.
